This summer 2025, our MACONA family is once again proving that generosity knows no borders. With each donation, you have reminded us that love, when shared, has the power to travel across oceans and transform lives.
Over the past weeks, volunteers and community members have worked tirelessly to sort, fold, and prepare your gifts. As we packed the final boxes, we paused to reflect on the hands and hearts that made this possible—your hands, your hearts.
📦 Campaign Totals
Because of you, here is what we are sending out into the world:
- 👕 Clothing: 264 articles Every single piece—tops, dresses, pants, leggings, skirts, sleepwear, and even cozy outerwear—was carefully folded with love. For children in West Africa, these aren’t just clothes; they are confidence for a new school year, comfort for a good night’s rest, and dignity for everyday life.
- 👟 Shoes: 24 pairs From sandals and sneakers to slippers and dress shoes, each pair carries the promise of safety, mobility, and opportunity. Shoes that protect little feet walking to school or help a parent head to work.
- 🧸 Toys & Plushies: 10–12 These bright, joyful treasures will stay close to home in the Greater Baltimore area, bringing smiles to children who deserve a chance to play and dream.
- 📚 Children’s Books: 8–10 Stories like Good Manners and Clifford’s Tricks will soon spark imagination and learning. For young readers in West Africa, these books represent knowledge, creativity, and hope for a future yet to be written.
🌍 Where It’s Going
- West Africa: Clothing, shoes, and books are on their way to children and families, meeting everyday needs with dignity and love.
- Greater Baltimore Area: The toys you see in these photos will bring joy to local children, reminding us that hope begins right here at home too.
